How to check server performance and resources and adjust cloudlets
We are implementing an important update to our cloudlet resource allocation model to enhance performance and ensure fair resource distribution across all users.
Currently
1 Cloudlet = 128 MegaBytes RAM + 400 MHz CPU
But as per new cloudlets specification
1 Cloudlet = 128 MegaBytes RAM + 100 MHz CPU
Note - Memory per cloudlet remains unchanged, so RAM availability is not affected.
This change aligns our model with industry standards of 3-4 GB RAM per CPU core practices and helps prevent excessive CPU consumption from certain customers that can impact all users on the platform.
Why This Change?
- To improve overall platform performance
- To ensure fair resource allocation for all users
- To maintain long-term sustainability and avoid CPU overcommitment
Applications that are CPU-intensive may require more cloudlets to maintain current performance levels. and Memory per cloudlet remains unchanged — so RAM availability is not affected.
Review your current workloads, especially those with high CPU usage.
Please follow the steps below to check your usage
1. Click on the statistics tab in front of the node
2. Choose a duration of one month and a time interval as per your need
3. Check for your highest Ram and CPU usage for last month
4. And adjust your cloudlets as per new cloudlets specifications
For example, here in the screenshot, the highest CPU usage is 7.8 GHz, and the CPU Usage limit is 12.8 GHz
So, as per new cloudlets specifications, You need to allocate 128 cloudlets to match 12.8 GHz of CPU limit
